At the dawn of the independent Hungary around 1988-1992, when the soviet puppet state started to crumble, there were multiple attempts to launch adult magazines, some of them living on for years but there were a handful of mags which had only a few issues before fizzling out or the creators merged into other outlets. The legal background was rapidly changing, starting from the communism when every printed material needed license because of samizdats, with the new, legally greyish possibility of hardcore porn which was in itself illegal a few years back, most of the established softcore erotic outlets were hesitating to cover hardcore content, so they sometimes launched new mags as an experiment. It is common to see pseudo names in the “about us” or “impressum”.

The first one here is Gyertyatartó (meaning candelabra) from 1990, which claims to be the first issue.
